Fellow authors Falcon and Melissa love books so much, it only made sense for them to marry each other and share that love with the whole wide world. Between the two of them, there are always plenty of imaginative, awe-inspiring stories to share. Melissa and Falcon also run the business Novel Publicity together, where they work as publishers, marketers, and all-around business moguls. When not reading, writing, or child-rearing, they spend time relaxing at home in the company of her three dogs and five parrots. They have a standing arrangement that he will watch The Bachelor with her, as long as he is allowed to make fun of it afterward–and that’s how the “His & Her” review series was born.

Mrs. Storm

From an early age, Emlyn Chand has counted books among her best friends. She loves to hear and tell stories and emerged from the womb with a fountain pen grasped firmly in her left hand (true story). The book that changed her life is Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crocket Johnson. It opened her eyes to the world that could exist if only she was willing to create it—a lesson she has never forgotten. Her first novel, Farsighted, won the prestigious Writer’s Digest Self-Published Novel of the Year award in 2012 for the YA category. She now writes most of her fiction under her real name, Melissa Storm.

Hey, speaking of which, Melissa Storm is a mother first, and everything else second. She used to write under a pseudonym, but finally had the confidence to come out as herself to the world. Her fiction is highly personal and often based on true stories. Writing is Melissa’s way of showing her daughter just how beautiful life can be, when you pay attention to the everyday wonders that surround us. Many of her stories feature angels.

Mr. Storm

Falcon Storm was born in the frozen wastelands of Alaska. All that time spent in the dank, dark cold was quite enough, so he moved far, far away to the slightly-less-cold state of Michigan and now continues to seek out warmth by making others laugh. From role-playing games to spinning tall tales, he’s always been a storyteller. These days he writes about funny and fantastical worlds set just beneath the surface of our own and works from home assisting in the day-to-day operations of Novel Publicity and raising his and Melissa’s sassafras daughter, Phoenix.

Baby Storm

Ahh, Phoenix, arguably the best Storm of all. Although she doesn’t write her own stories yet, she does feature prominently in her parents’ blogs and on their dedication pages. She also dutifully attends Mom and Dad’s author events and wows the audience with her adorableness. Legend has it that Phoenix was born at 11 1/2 lbs–that legend is true. Right from the start, this child was destined for an awesome life. Luckily, Melissa and Falcon are all too happy to serve as “The Order of Phoenix” to keep their little star shine happy, engaged, and creative.
